Fishing Net
A fishing net is a tool or piece of equipment used for catching fish. These nets can be made from various thin and flexible materials, such as nylon. Typically, a fishing net consists of a mesh formed by tying knots in the material.
Types of Nylon Fishing Nets
Monofilament Nets
Monofilament nets, also known in the fishing industry as Glass or Cat Gut netting, are made from a single continuous filament. Their main advantage is near-invisibility in clear water, making them hard for fish to detect. Although slightly less strong than multifilament nylon, monofilament nets excel at reducing debris entanglement. Sticks, cockleburs, and other objects can often be removed simply by shaking the net, which enhances usability in snag-prone environments.
Multifilament Nets
Multifilament nets are constructed from many tiny filaments twisted or braided together, similar to twine. This gives the net a softer, more flexible structure, allowing it to trap a wide range of fish sizes more easily. While multifilament nets are harder to clean because they tend to catch debris, they are valued for their strength and durability. Typically made from high-quality, virgin nylon resin, they offer superior tensile strength and can withstand significant wear and tear. These nets are more visible in clear water but can be dyed easily for various uses, including fishing, sports, and industrial applications.
