Australia Temporary Fence panels require a base (or foot) for support and stability. The most common type is a plastic (HDPE) blow-moulded base filled with concrete. Other types include metal counterweight plates and self-standing bases.
Mainstream: Blow-moulded Concrete-filled Bases
RapidMesh
Dimensions: 600 x 230 x 150 mm
Safety orange colour, high stability, integrated moulding, suitable for harsh environments.
Site HQ / Jaybro Universal Base
Dimensions: approx. 610 x 230 x 150 mm
Safety orange colour, weight approx. 22-25 kg, one of the most common standard bases.
Tumblr HDPE Blow-moulded Base
Dimensions: 600 x 220 x 150 mm
HDPE material, UV resistant, corrosion resistant, 40% more stable than traditional bases, can be filled with water or concrete.
No-dig: Metal Self-standing Bases
PEAK No-Dig Standing Base
Freestanding design, height approx. 500 mm or 600 mm
Black powder-coated steel, sturdy and rust-resistant, enables fast no-dig installation.
PEAK No-Dig Flange Base
Dimensions: 100 x 100 mm
Black steel flange base, used with a post and spike.
Special Material Base
Poly Blok
Dimensions: 800 x 284 x 146 mm
Made from recycled rubber and plastic, weight approx. 17 kg, lightweight and complies with Australian Standard AS 4687.
Auxiliary Ballast Component
Construktor Hook Plate
Length: approx. 320 mm
12 micron galvanised steel, fixed to the bottom of the fence by hooks, can attach up to 4 counterweights for extra stability.
How to Choose the Australia Temporary Fence Right Base Model
Consider the following factors:
Stability requirements – For high-wind areas or critical security zones, choose heavy concrete-filled bases (22-25 kg). For normal environments, standard bases are sufficient.
Ground condition & application
Hard surfaces: a normal base works.
Non-permanent installations (events, home gardens): consider no-dig metal self-standing bases.
Frequently moved construction sites: consider lightweight Poly Blok bases.
Match with post diameter (critical!) – Confirm your fence post diameter to ensure the base’s socket fits. Common suitable diameters are 32 mm; some universal bases accommodate 25-48 mm.
Environment & compliance – For long-term outdoor use, choose HDPE material (UV resistant, corrosion resistant). For commercial projects, verify that the base meets Australian Standard AS 4687.
